Merrill Foster

Hi All!  My name is Merrill Foster, and I have been teaching for over 25 years in Rockyview Schools. I really must be older than even I think!!  I am so excited to be a part of the first years learning community here at Heloise Lorimer School.  What an exciting and unique opportunity for all of us to be a part of building success for all from the ground up.  As Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress; working together is success”.  I have taught grades 1 – 4 at different times in my career, and continue to love those “aha!” moments that happen more often than you might think in a classroom.  I’m looking forward to the day to day interaction amongst my classroom family.  As a parent of 2 children myself, I am honoured to be entrusted with the care of 27 very special members of your family.

Looking forward to working with your child this year, and getting to know their home families as well.

Welcome to all.

Our Class Mission

I believe that learning should be fun and exciting, yet challenging.  I strive
to create a classroom environment where all learners have the opportunity to
work to their fullest potential; a classroom where students feel safe to show
their unique qualities and individual strengths.  I encourage my students to
be problem solvers and try to motivate them to become lifelong learners.  I
understand that education is a partnership between students, parents, school, and
community.  Communication is the key to your child's success.  Together we can
make school both challenging and enjoyable

Parent Tips

A family atmosphere prevails at our school with the education of your child being a shared responsibility.  We encourage your interest in what your child does each day and welcome your involvement in the classroom, school council and at home.
