My name is Laura Sage and it is my pleasure to welcome your child to my classroom for a wonderful year of learning and fun. I am so excited to be teaching grade 1 this year at Heloise Lorimer School.
I look forward to meeting you all as we begin to build a collaborative community to ensure we have a fantastic year!
Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns by writing a note in your child's agenda or by email me at lsage@rockyview.ab.ca.
This year we will be posting some information on our Google Classroom. The invitation has been sent to students Rockyview email account. If you have not yet joined, please do so as this will keep you up to date on current events in our class.
We will also be using MyBlueprint to showcase student work. Login information will be sent home.
Parent Tips:
A family atmosphere prevails at our school with the education of your child being a shared responsibility. We encourage your interest in what your child does each day and welcome your involvement in the classroom, school council and at home.
1. Please practice reading with your child, and encourage them to explore books on their own, on a regular basis. Reading with your child regularly will help them to become a more fluent and confident reader.
2. Have your child practice their counting and number recognition.
3. Please initial your child’s agenda daily.
4. Check PowerSchool regularly for Real Time Reporting
https://ps.rockyview.ab.ca/public/home.htm
You will need a username and password. Doing this will allow you to see up-to-date marks, due dates and upcoming assignments. If your child misses an assignment, it will appear in the PowerSchool.
5. Look for the bi-weekly classroom newsletter from the teacher as well as a Monthly Update via email.
